Sherkhan Of Alnwick

Visited Nov 30th 2023. Very nice food, the usual Indian cuisine but done differently. Very good service from all members of staff who served us. ( Sorry, didn't take any photos ). We will visit when in the area next time. Update, returned 16th Oct 2024 Had a very nice meal & this time took some snaps & a video. Can't fault these Guy's, well recommend a visit... 15.May 2025 & we visited again, outstanding food & service again from all the Stall....

Lovely food, great vegetarian selection. I would say that the food was on the mild side. My "hit" dish is what I'd call medium and my daughter's medium dish mild. That said it had an interesting spice blend and good fresh ingredients, so being milder than expected was not a problem.

Great food. Not your typical greasy Indian meal. The chicken chat puri and biryani were spot on.

Fun family evening out at Sherkan Of Alnwick. We shared starters and ordered main courses plus drinks. Reasonably priced for four people. The quality of the food and the service was first class, we were well looked after. Everything we ordered arrived promptly, there was no excessive waiting so we could enjoy our dinner. We arrived quite early for a 5:30pm. booking and were there for roughly one and half hours when it was packed out. Great atmosphere, nice place to relax with family or friends and stunning window views of the town. I'm certain we will choose Sherkhans again!

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! On entry, we were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. Shown quickly to a nice table and asked for drinks and poppadoms. Staff are very friendly and chatty with a smile. We were given time to look at the menu, and ordering was easy. The pickle tray was amazing. The yoghurt sauce was the best! The food arrived and looked great! Wow, we were not wrong it was delicious!! We travel a lot and eat a lot of curry and this was by far definitely one of the best! Everything was very fresh and tasty, and the chicken just melted. All the ingredients used were clearly very freshly prepared. Enjoyed every bit!! We gave constructive criticism of the naan bread as this was super freshly made, just lacked flavour to the ones we chose. Still tasty! The guy (Mr. Newcastle fan!!) Came to ask if everything had been OK at the end, and we had a good chat and were made to feel very welcome! I requested he thanked the chefs for amazing food!

Superb meal. 6 of us with varying tastes dined. Service was outstanding, range on the menu was immense. The food was delicious (we all had different courses) and great value for money. We're in the area on a family holiday and will probably eat here at least once more before we head home.

Turned up without booking on a Saturday night and were seated straight away. We here given our popadoms not long after been seated. Where do I start with the food portion size was just right. The starter was a nice twist on the usual chicken pakora rolled in egg and flour then fried instead of tempura batter. I had the the chicken pathia the taste was perfect the hint of sweetness followed by the gentle kick of spice was amazing and not over powering. When it come to price what can you say popadoms, 2 starters 2 mains with rice and 3 drinks all for 57.00 I would have happily paid more.

Excellent indian restaurant in the middle of Alnwick, first visit with freinds chicken madras one of the best I've had, everyone commented on the quality of the food we will definitely return
